The transfer talk surrounding Gonzalo Higuain refuses to go away and there have been further developments on the whole situation – and it could be good news for Arsenal fans.
According to reports from Italy, Napoli’s star striker would certainly consider a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer if a concrete offer from the Gunners was made.
Arsene Wenger’s side are in desperate need of more attacking reinforcements and if they do manage to land the Argentine, it would be a massive boost to the squad.
However, they do face competition for his signature from both Juventus and PSG, with the former having already launched a bid to try to sign Higuain earlier this month.
Napoli are believed to be holding out for close to €100m for their prized marksman. An astronomical amount of money for the 29-year old.
It’s no surprise, though, given the season he has just had with club and country, featuring 52 times last term and scoring 42 goals.
Arsenal’s reluctance to spend has been well documented, however, Arsene Wenger has confirmed they “remain in the market” for further signings.
The north London club have already splashed out £34m on Granit Xhaka, while Japanese striker Takuma Asano and 20-year-old defender Rob Holding have both joined for a combined £4m.
